Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center successfully completes its first GORE® TAG® Thoracic Branch Endoprosthesis procedure. The surgery was done by vascular surgeon Dr. Joseph Savarese.
The GORE® TAG® Thoracic Branch Endoprosthesis is the first and only FDA-approved implantable thoracic branched endoprosthesis, providing a fully endovascular solution for patients with complex aortic diseases near the aortic arch.
During the procedure, the vascular surgeon inserts the stent graft through the artery in the groin, guiding it to the aortic arch using X-ray imaging. Once positioned, the stent graft repairs the damaged section of the aorta while maintaining vital blood flow to surrounding organs.
The GORE® TAG® Thoracic Branch Endoprosthesis procedure represents a breakthrough in endovascular therapy, which can be safer and is a less invasive alternative to open surgery.
