Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Reveal New MRI Technology

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center celebrated the recent addition of its new MAGNETOM® Aera 1.5T Open Bore MRI system from Siemens Healthcare. The MRI system will help expand access to diagnostic imaging that supports a complete range of clinical applications, including neurology, orthopedics, body imaging, angiography, cardiology, breast imaging and oncology.

 

The new equipment is designed to offer many benefits, including superb image quality to satisfy a wide range of medical needs and help physicians make quicker, more accurate diagnoses. The system’s large 70 cm open bore can provide access for obese patients up to 550 lbs. It also boasts an ultra-short bore (145 cm), which may help alleviate concerns of claustrophobia since many exams can be performed with the patient’s head outside of the bore. Furthermore, the WARP metal reduction feature produces readable scans for patients with metal hip shoulder and knee replacements.
