Palm Beach County, Fla. –Feb. 3rd, 2025 – The Palm Beach Health Network is encouraging the community to prioritize their heart health this February, which is American Heart Month.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in America. However, there are ways to reduce or eliminate the risk of developing it, such as exercising and a healthy diet.
“From being the first to perform open heart surgery in Palm Beach County, to continually investing in the latest cardiac medical technology, the Palm Beach Health Network remains committed to heart health,” said Eastern Group President for Tenet Healthcare, Maggie Gill. “February is an important time to remind the community to pay attention to your heart’s health.”
The Palm Beach Health Network is offering complimentary events and screenings to promote heart health, starting with National Go Red Day on February 7th, when all Palm Beach Health Network staff will be wearing red. Below is what to expect throughout the rest of the month:
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center
- Every Sunday – The Gardens GreenMarket – Blood Pressure Screenings 8am-1pm – 10500 N Military Trail
- Feb. 5 -Mended Hearts at Palm Beach Gardens peer-support group for patients with cardiovascular disease from 11am to noon in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (2503 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL)
Good Samaritan Medical Center
- Feb. 26 – Heart Matters Screening for Heart Valve Awareness Day, testing blood pressure, diabetes, body mass index and cholesterol levels in Good Samaritan Medical Center’s lobby from 10am to noon
Delray Medical Center
- Feb. 7 – Heart Matters Screenings, testing blood pressure, diabetes, body mass index and cholesterol levels in Delray Medical Center’s lobby from 8am to 10am
- Feb. 21 – Heart Matters Screening for Heart Valve Awareness Day, testing blood pressure, diabetes, body mass index and cholesterol levels in Delray Medical Center’s lobby from 8am to 10am
- Feb. 27(repeats on 4th Thursday of every month) -Mended Hearts at Delray peer-support group for patients with cardiovascular disease from 11am to noon in the cardiac conference room in Delray Medical Center
