Kendall Regional Medical Center annually recognizes a nursing staff member who embodies the ideals of his or her profession. The 2006 recipient of the Jean Watson Caring Award is Maria Busto, R.N. Busto has been on staff at Kendall Regional since 1978. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in Honduras. After moving to the United States, she first worked as a Pediatric Intensive Care nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital and then later moved to Kendall Regional. She now works as an Adult Intensive Care nurse and is the Critical Care Night Unit Leader and Administrative Relief Nursing Supervisor.
