Vishwas Dave’s 24 years at Memorial Healthcare System have been filled with numerous professional highlights, but launching an in-house pharmacy at Memorial Manor is the one he is most proud of.
“We had been relying on an outside entity to supply the medications required by those at our skilled nursing and rehabilitative facility, but too often that meant delays in getting residents what they needed,” said Vishwas. “By establishing an on-site pharmacy, medication orders can be processed and fulfilled promptly, typically within minutes, and clinical teams have immediate access to our pharmacist’s expertise.”
Currently the director of pharmacy at Memorial Regional Hospital South, Vishwas says the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment as a younger professional not only made him a better pharmacist, it shaped the leader he is today. “The Memorial experience made me stronger, more compassionate, and better able to understand when to provide support, when to challenge, and when to empower others to take the initiative.”
