Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida has expanded its comprehensive Patient Support Services team with the addition of psychosomatic medicine physician Constanza Martinez Piñanez, M.D. Board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, Dr. Martinez Piñanez specializes in the prevention, assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders and emotional conditions ranging from anxiety and depression to fear of recurrence and cognitive deficits, which can directly affect a patient’s condition and overall health.

Dr. Martinez Piñanez earned her medical degree from National University of Asuncion in Asuncion, Paraguay. She completed a residency in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She also completed a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Martinez Piñanez was a psychiatrist at Ozark Center-Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO.
