2000 Frozen Turkeys to be Distributed at the Third Annual Gobble Gobble Giveaway

October 29, 2021 – (Lakeland and Winter Haven, FL) – Reliance Medical Centers, a leading primary care provider in Polk County, has announced their third annual Gobble Gobble Giveaway, an appreciation and community outreach event that aims to provide area seniors with a complimentary turkey for Thanksgiving. This year’s giveaway, supported by Simply Healthcare, is designed to be the largest one yet, with plans to give away 2000 frozen turkeys to Polk County residents, age 64+, beginning Monday, Nov. 8 through Tuesday, Nov. 23.

Frozen turkeys will be distributed by appointment only to ensure that the distribution is an enjoyable experience and runs smoothly for everyone. Seniors who schedule a time to visit the cutting-edge medical, healthcare and Wellness Club facilities at either of the Lakeland or Winter Haven centers will receive a free frozen turkey at the end of their visit from Nov. 8-23. Current patient members may schedule a time to pick up a frozen turkey at either location between Nov. 15-19, with a special kick-off event on Nov. 15th at the Lakeland center, where plush toy turkeys, holiday flavored pies, photo opportunities and refreshments will accompany the distribution of frozen turkeys ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

“The annual Gobble Gobble Giveaway is our way of showing our appreciation to those who have entrusted Reliance Medical Centers with their primary medical, preventive, and wellbeing care. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of comprehensive care that promotes a happier, healthier, more independent lifestyle,” said Roberto Martinez, Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Reliance Medical Centers.

Now in its third year, more than 300 Polk County seniors have already pre-registered to pick up a frozen turkey at the Reliance Medical Centers Gobble Gobble Giveaway, which is outpacing the response from years prior. With the cost of turkeys reaching an all-time high, this event is sure to have a positive impact on seniors who live in- or near Lakeland and Winter Haven.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” added Adam Krezel, COO, Reliance Medical Centers. “It is a simple but fantastic way to give back to all seniors in the community, not just Reliance patients.”

News of this turkey giveaway follows the Reliance Medical Centers model of community outreach. This month the company is honored to be the top presenting sponsor for the Polk County Walk to End Alzheimer’s and recently pledged $1 million to the University of South Florida (USF) Foundation, Inc. to support innovative programs that focus on geriatric value-based healthcare within the USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and USF Health.
