Broward Health Imperial Point (BHIP) is pleased to announce that Dr. Zachariah P. Zachariah, one of the nation’s leading cardiologists, was recently named Medical Director of Cardiac Services. He will lead the expansion of BHIP’s cardiac services program, which will include cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties and the opening of a new Chest Pain Center.

In addition, BHIP welcomes three physicians to its cardiac services program, including cardiologists Dr. Mammen P. Zachariah and Dr. Molly Ann Zachariah, as well as Dr. Philip George, who specializes in internal medicine.

“This is an exciting time not only for our hospital, but for the community as well,” said Alice Taylor, CEO of Broward Health Imperial Point. “The Zachariah family is synonymous with excellence in cardiology and we are very proud to offer this level of care and expertise to our patients. This step illustrates our ongoing commitment to providing the very best care to the community and we look forward to enhancing our cardiac care services under their leadership.”

A major addition to BHIP’s cardiac services program will be the opening of a new Chest Pain Center where patients arriving at the hospital with chest pain will be quickly assessed and treated with protocol-based procedures.
