Broward Health Imperial Point Physician Offers Three Ways to Tackle Your Goals

1. Get an accountability partner
We are more likely to follow our new year goals if we have someone to check in with. Find a friend or family member who also has goals for the new year and check in with them on a regular basis to report progress and encourage one another.
2. Don’t get discouraged
Don’t think of the goal as "all or nothing." If you slip up one day, just get back to it the next day. Don’t allow one bad day to completely derail your goals for 2021.
3. Reward yourself for progress
Plan a way to treat yourself if you can follow your goal for 30 days. It could be an item you’ve been wanting to purchase for yourself, a day to relax at the beach or another preferred place, or even just a meal from your favorite restaurant (and of course, take-out or outdoor dining are the safer options during the pandemic).
