Ignacio Rua, M.D., FACS, FSVS, is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. He has vast experience in general and vascular surgery and treats the entire spectrum of vascular diseases. His clinical interests include open, endovascular, and hybrid treatment approaches to complex aortic disease and thoracic outlet syndrome. Dr. Rua earned his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in New York City. He completed an internship and a residency in general surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY. His clinical training includes a hepatobiliary fellowship at Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, Spain, where he gained specialty training in hepatic resection and liver transplantation surgery. He also completed an endovascular fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Rua is fluent in English and Spanish.
