Dr. Roxana Orta was the 2023 Joan K. Stout RN Endowed Teaching Chair, Professor of Nursing at MDC, Benjamin Leon School of Nursing. She is the Program Coordinator of the RN to BSN Program where she ensures students meet national program outcomes. Dr. Orta is recognized in the academic community as an expert educator with years of extensive dedication to student professional development and academic excellence. This year she has received the prestigious “Florida Nurses Association South Region, Nurse Educator Award” and “FNA South Region, Distinguished Nurse of the Year Award”. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Dr. Orta and her commitment to providing an exemplary education to her students. She takes great pride and dedication in teaching the next generation of baccalaureate-prepared nurses.
