Nicklaus Children’s Health System (NCHS) has once again received an A+  bond rating from Standard and Poor’s credit rating agency. The health system, which includes a 289-bed freestanding children’s hospital and a growing network of pediatric outpatient centers, was also recognized by the agency as having a stable fiscal outlook for the future.

“This affirmed positive rating signifies our continued commitment to the patients and families we serve. Our strong financial position in the marketplace enables us to further our mission to increase access to quality care for children in an efficient and effective way,” said Tim Birkenstock, Chief Financial Officer for Nicklaus Children’s Health System.

Nicklaus Children’s is financially evaluated on an annual basis and has been rated A+ consecutively for the last several years. This year, the health system opened two new urgent care facilities in the Hialeah and Homestead communities, bringing to 14 the total number of Nicklaus outpatient centers serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. These service expansions exemplify NCHS’s commitment to meeting the care needs of children throughout the region.
