The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center’s Stepping with PRIDE (Positive Results in Diversity Enhancement) Program is designed to identify individuals from diverse backgrounds who are committed to personal and professional growth, who display leadership potential and have the desire to advance within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Candidates selected for this program are provided with a broad spectrum of developmental experiences under the guidance of a mentor.

 
The goals for Stepping with PRIDE areto: enhance self-development skills and knowledge to increase productivity and employee satisfaction, identify a variety of career options available within the VA, develop nurturing support systems with a mentor, medical center employees and community liaisons, improve the morale of participants through personalized developmental and educational experiences, increase understanding of the systems within the facility and increase visibility within the facility.
 
The program includes seven (7) modules plus orientation and graduation. Modules will include video conference segments, group work, live didactic sessions, on-line courses, assignments and a project. This program consists of participants working with a mentor at least once a month over a six-month period. Selected applicants will be required to complete a performance based interview.
