The Corporation for National and Community Service named the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth.

LECOM medical and pharmacy students contributed more than 20,000 hours of volunteer service during the 2009-10 academic year. They provided assistance to numerous Erie and Bradenton social service, educational and healthcare organizations.
LECOM faculty and students staff the free medical clinic at the Bradenton-based Bill Galvano One-Stop Center for the homeless and serve as mentors at an after-school tutoring program at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch.
