Four team members named Tenet Heroes for outstanding contributions, and one inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame

June 16, 2022 – The Palm Beach Health Network, the largest healthcare network in Palm Beach County, proudly recognizes five of its esteemed team members who are being honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Four of these individuals are being named Tenet Heroes for their outstanding contributions in 2021, and a fifth is receiving the highest honor of being inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame.

The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their communities and go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Nominated by leadership and/or fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and commitment to its mission.

“These remarkable individuals have inspired us through their actions to make a positive and meaningful difference in our community,” said Palm Beach Health Network Chief Executive Officer, Maggie Gill.  “We are deeply grateful for their dedication, selfless efforts, and commitment to our mission.”

Across the Palm Beach Health Network, the following team members received the honor of being named Tenet Heroes:

  • Mae Kitchie Magallones Arreza, RN, Vascular Service Line Lead Nurse, Delray Medical Center

Kitchie is an exceptional nurse leader who goes above and beyond for all of her patients.  She has played an important role in building Delray Medical Center’s vascular program into the world-renowned program it is today.  Kitchie serves as a role model for her team and is a highly-skilled, compassionate clinician.

  • Ana Hernandez, RN, ICU Nurse, Good Samaritan Medical Center

As an ICU nurse, Ana touches the lives of hundreds of people with her commitment and dedication to the care and comfort of others.  Ana is known by her peers as a team player who goes beyond the scope of her job to deliver compassionate, safe and quality care, and many of her patients say she has saved their lives.  Ana’s empathy, kindness and encouragement are all part of what makes her a Tenet Hero.

  • Mary Wallace, RN, ICU, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center

As an intensive care unit nurse, Mary cares for some of the most vulnerable patients.  With over 15 years of experience, Mary has always shown compassion, care and goes above and beyond for the patients she treats. Her kindness extends outside of the hospital when she stopped to help a cyclist having a medical emergency. Patients often refer to her as their guardian angels.

  • Cathy McCullough, RN, Employee Health Nurse, West Boca Medical Center

Cathy is a Tenet Hero for many reasons including her ability to ensure the staff at West Boca Medical Center are safe, healthy, educated and cared for, so they are always prepared to care for others. She is considered by her co-workers to be an angel who is loyal, dedicated and deserving of this esteemed award.

Receiving Tenet’s highest honor and being inducted into the company’s Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame is:

  • Rachel Gonzales Sanson, RN, Dialysis Nurse, St. Mary’s Medical Center

Rachel always goes above and beyond for her patients, but in 2021, she opened not just her heart, but her home to someone in need.  After an elderly patient died, Rachel took it upon herself to make sure her teenage grandson was safe and fed daily.  With nowhere to go, the state gave Rachel permission to foster him immediately for the mental well-being of the youth, and she has stepped up for him ever since. Rachel’s co-workers say that there is a special halo in heaven set aside for her.

The Palm Beach Health Network is proud to congratulate these five award winners, and thanks them for their dedication to the health and wellness of our community.
