FIME 2022 sees the launch of a new type of temperature and time indicator that represents a new direction for leading indicator company Timestrip. The Timestrip neo is a range of low-cost electronic indicators that provide clear, irreversible alerts when key parameters have been exceeded. More accurate than corresponding liquid-based indicators, and much simpler than traditional data loggers, the Timestrip neo allows item or pack level monitoring throughout the supply chain. Major healthcare applications include vaccines and other high value products.

Temperature sensitive critical goods such as vaccines and therapeutics require proper temperature management throughout the supply chain if wastage is to be avoided. Transport and storage bring their own risks from loading and unloading, delays and so on, as products can be exposed to inappropriate temperatures for extended periods. Suppliers need the peace of mind of knowing that their products have been correctly handled throughout the entire supply chain.

Timestrip’s neo is the first product of its type, based on an innovative electronic design. Flashing LEDs give easy to read alerts that show breaches above and below temperature limits at a cost much lower than standard temperature data loggers. The unique design provides monitoring at three temperatures and shows the cumulative time above a specific temperature level. For example, in the image shown, a descending temperature that reaches 2⁰C will cause an LED to flash; another LED will light when this drops as low as -0.5⁰C. A third set of LEDs show when the temperature has exceeded 8⁰C for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours.

Benefits and features of Timestrip neo:

  • Small, micro-weight indicator, suitable for many monitoring tasks
  • Clear irreversible alarm indication
  • Tolerant of extreme heat and cold
  • No training required
  • Long shelf life and operation time
  • Available from stock, but with customised options for time and temperature
  • Cost effective solution for supply chain monitoring

Customer quote:
“We use Timestrip electronic indicators to monitor temperature during transport of high value goods such as vaccines. Temperatures in Chile can vary from 40⁰C (104⁰F) to -10⁰C (14⁰F).  Timestrip’s e-indicators provide a reliable alert for temperature breaches at a lower cost than standard data loggers. The indicators are a valuable resource for decision support regarding the status of a shipment.” – Gulliermo Lorens, Lortech, Santiago Chile
