Jacksonville, Fla., January 21, 2020 – Bringing extensive clinical and leadership experience, Timothy Groover, MD, MBA, CPE, FACHE, has been promoted to president of physician alignment at Baptist Health in Northeast Florida.
In this role, Dr. Groover will lead Baptist Physician Enterprise, comprised of Baptist Primary Care, Northeast Florida’s largest primary care network, and more than 15 specialty practices including Baptist Behavioral Health, Baptist Heart Specialists, Baptist ENT Specialists, Baptist Neurology Group, Jacksonville Orthopeadic Institute and Lyerly Neurosurgery. 
Under the leadership of Elizabeth Ransom, MD, FACS, chief physician executive of Baptist Health, Dr. Groover will collaborate with physicians, practice leadership and hospital leadership to develop and implement programs using data-driven best practices to enhance clinical, operational and service excellence.

Since joining Baptist Health as an anesthesiologist nearly 25 years ago, Dr. Groover has held numerous leadership positions, and was named a Baptist Health board member in 2014. Most recently, he served as the senior vice president and chief medical officer of Baptist Physician Partners (BPP), a clinically integrated network of more than 1,000 local providers working collaboratively to improve quality, patient experience and efficiency. In his new role, he will continue to have oversight of BPP, with a new chief medical officer reporting directly to him. Until the new CMO is named, Dr. Groover will continue to serve in this role.

Dr. Groover is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and serves on the Regent’s Advisory Council and a member of the Physician Executives Forum. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Duval County Medical Society, The KIPP School, Coastal Community Health, Baptist Health system, and the Board of Trustees of Greater Refuge Temple. Dr. Groover holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee and his medical degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami.
