The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) and Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) programs have been ranked No. 25 and No. 26, respectively, by U.S. News & World Report among the 2026 Best Nursing Schools.
“Our D.N.P. has risen a tremendous 15 spots in the 2026 rankings. Now at a historic high point, our D.N.P. program is No. 11 nationwide among private schools, tied with NYU,” said Dean Hudson Santos. “Our Master of Science in Nursing program rose one spot, making it a top-10 private school-based program. These optimal rankings reflect ongoing clinical and research excellence, outstanding faculty dedication to evidence-based pedagogy, and a relentless focus on preparing advanced practice nurses to be transformational leaders for the next era in health care.”
The school offers advanced concentrations in family, acute care, and primary care nursing; post-master’s certificates in psychiatric mental health nursing and oncology nursing; and the state’s only Master of Science in Leadership/D.N.P. dual degree program. U.S. News has ranked the school’s three-year B.S.N. to D.N.P. Nurse Anesthesia Track No. 49 nationwide for 2026. This competitive anesthesia program, along with the M.S.N. and D.N.P. programs previously mentioned, continues to be No. 1 in South Florida overall and No. 1 among Florida’s private nursing schools.
