VA Director Wins Distinguished Award

Charleen Szabo, West Palm Beach VA Medical Center Director, was selected as a recipient of the 2008 Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive.

Each year, since the establishment of the Senior Executive Service (SES), the President of the United States has conferred the ranks of Meritorious Executive on a select group of federal career members who have provided exceptional service to the American people over an extended period of time. These senior executives are outstanding leaders who consistently demonstrate strength, integrity, industry, and a relentless commitment to public service. The Meritorious Executive rank is awarded to leaders for sustained accomplishments with only 5% of SES career members receiving this award. This is the 2nd time Szabo has been honored with this recognition as she also received this award in 2003.
