The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has marked National Salute to Veteran Patients week, February 10-16, 2019. The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center will host events all week to pay tribute and express appreciation to Veterans; increase community awareness of the role of the VA medical center; and encourage citizens to become involved as volunteers at VA.

“The National Salute to Veteran Patients week provides an opportunity for our community to pay tribute to America’s heroes,” said West Palm Beach VA Medical Center Director Donna Katen-Bahensky. “This week we salute these brave individuals who have paid and continue to pay the price of freedom.”

In Fiscal Year 2018 the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center provided care to nearly 60,000 Veterans. The facility processed more than 760,000 outpatient visits and treated nearly 6,000 inpatients at its 264-bed medical center.
