Valerie A. Jackson, CEO of Columbia Hospital, was named the winner of the Healthcare CEO category of the 2006 Excellence in Healthcare Awards presented by the South Florida Business Journal.
Jackson was recognized for implementation of many innovative employee events as well as her community involvement. She currently is on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Palm Beach County, the Board of Directors of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and is chair of the Komen Foundations Medical Advisory Committee. Jackson was also key in arranging the donation of over $4 million dollars worth of used hospital equipment to clinics in Haiti and Cambodia as well as developing a domestic violence education and awareness program at the hospital with the Florida Resource Center for Women and Children.
Jackson has been the CEO of Columbia Hospital since December 2000. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree, has a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova University and a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management.
