VITAS Healthcare recently celebrated Caribbean American Heritage month at the second annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards. During the banquet and gala, VITAS General Manager Donna Borland was recognized for her service and dedication to helping terminally-ill patients in Jamaica. For the past few years, Borland and a group of VITAS employees have volunteered to assist Hope Hospice and the Mustard Seed Communities in Jamaica, presenting them with medical supplies to support their daily operations, as well as gifting terminally-ill children with a redecorated physical therapy room in 2014. Recently, Borland’s team was awarded the Friends of Good Shepherd (FOGS) Corporate Award for their thoughtful contributions overseas.
