VITAS Palliative Care Solutions (VPCS) unveiled its first outpatient palliative medicine clinic in the country with a grand-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, February 1. A group of 50 VITAS executives, community physicians, and hospital and nursing home administrators toured the first-of-its-kind clinic in Palm Beach County, which integrates traditional and non-traditional care to provide a holistic approach in caring for patients with serious illnesses and their families. The clinic is operated by VITAS physicians and nurse practitioners who are board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine, as well as a team of licensed clinical social workers, registered dietitians, massage therapists, reiki masters and acupuncturists. The new clinic is located in Lake Worth, FL.
