In an effort to help end the fight against breast cancer, West Boca Medical Center served as a silver sponsor for the “Making Strides of South Palm Beach” walk, raising over $2,870. The event took place at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, and all funds raised will help support breast cancer research, provide information and services to the community, and give women access to various screenings and treatment.

The walk was founded in 1984 by a cancer survivor named Margery Gould Rath, who wanted to honor breast cancer survivors, help spread awareness and raise money to find a cure for the disease. The first event was held in Boston and became an instant hit, attracting 200 walkers. Every year since then, the race has continued to prosper, with participants donating over $460 million for the cause.
