August 26th, 2021 – West Boca Medical Center today announces it is a 5-star recipient for Vaginal Delivery and C-Section Delivery as recognized by Healthgrades, a leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems.These 5-star ratings indicate the Boca Center for Women’s Care at West Boca Medical Center’s clinical outcomes for Vaginal Delivery and C-Section Delivery are statistically significantly better than expected, and places West Boca Medical Center among the national leaders in Vaginal Delivery and C-Section Delivery.

Healthgrades analyzed all-payer state data for 16 states for years 2017 through 2019. Healthgrades found that there is a significant variation in hospital quality between those that have received 5-stars and those that have not. For example, from 2017 through 2019, women having a Vaginal Delivery in hospitals rated 5-stars have, on average, a 43.6% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated by hospitals rated 1-star*. Similarly, from 2017-2019, patients having a C-Section Delivery in hospitals receiving 1-star are, on average 2.5 times more likely to experience one or more complications than if they were treated in hospitals with 5-stars.*

This is the 7th year in a row (2015-2021) that West Boca Medical Center has received this recognition as a Five-Star Recipient for both Vaginal and C-Section Delivery and is the only hospital in Boca Raton to receive both Five-Star achievements this year.
