October 30 2019 – As part of its commitment to educating the community about breast cancer awareness in October, West Boca Medical served as the “To Your Health” sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk. Nurses, radiology technicians, physicians, staff and other healthcare providers from the hospital were on-site at the event to answer breast health questions, and provide educational materials. The hospital raised money this month for the event through bake sales, gift basket raffles, and mason jars with flowers
This event isn’t just a walk; it is a movement to end breast cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates that nearly a quarter of a million people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and from events like this, more than $64million dollars are currently invested in breast cancer research grants.
