
September 4, 2020 – Westside Regional Medical Center is leading the way in advanced cardiovascular treatments that help save lives. After over two years, Westside Regional Medical Center recently completed its brand new state-of-the-art Philips Azurian Cath Lab Replacement. The new Cath lab offers physicians increased viewing flexibility, deepen insight of coronaries, 2D images and seamless user experience to enhance decision making.
Spearheaded by Westside Regional’s Chief Operating Officer, Ashley Vertuno, the Broward County hospital started this project back in 2018. “I am extremely proud of our team’s accomplishments in reopening one of our Cath labs,” said Ashley Vertuno, Chief Operating Officer at Westside Regional. “Westside is proud to provide high-quality care, while offering the most state-of-the-art equipment to our community.”

The facility has assembled a team of experienced and compassionate physicians devoted to heart care for every patient. They have expert physicians in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, advanced heart failure and cardiovascular imaging, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac anesthesia and structural heart. The 250-bed award winning hospital offers treatment options for patients with any heart valve disease too narrow (stenosis) or leaky (regurgitation), heart vessel (Coronary Artery) blockage, previous heart valve surgery with prosthetic valve failure, intolerance to blood-thinning medications for atrial fibrillation, as well as congenital openings between the chambers of your heart.
