Growing up in the Caribbean, Jenny Boodlal-Sookraj, MSW, witnessed firsthand how stigma often prevented people from seeking mental health support. That experience inspired her to pursue a career in social work, where she is committed to reducing stigma, promoting awareness and empowering individuals to seek the support they need.
As a social worker and case manager at Memorial Regional Hospital, Boodlal-Sookraj finds purpose in guiding patients and families through difficult moments with compassion and empathy. She advocates for their needs, connects them with essential resources and helps improve their overall well-being during times of uncertainty.
