Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is a center of excellence for Behavioral Health in Oakland Park, Florida. The hospital is dedicated to assisting individuals and families in their mental health. Over the last two years in this state-of-the-art hospital, Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center has expanded programming for both their inpatient and outpatient service lines.

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center hosts seven different units that are specific to the individual needs and treatment frameworks of the patient. The Valor program is the newest service line with 14 inpatient beds and outpatient individual and group treatment for first responders and healthcare workers. The Valor program focuses on the trauma-related experience of the first responder, and how the work-related trauma affects the individual’s level of functioning as well as their family system.
 
The 30-bed Journey and Pathways unit is dedicated to those individuals struggling with substance abuse and sobriety. Patients have the opportunity to safely detox from drugs and alcohol and if appropriate, stay for rehabilitation services to promote stabilization, change and recovery.
 
Treasure Cove is a 44-bed unit that serves children and adolescents. Treasure Cove focuses on the family as the center of treatment.
 
The 48-bed Reflections and 16-bed Sunrise units’ serve adults diagnosed with mental illness. Treatment focuses on acute stabilization and community reintegration.
 
Finally, the 30-bed Hope unit serves patients with both mental illness and/or addiction for the more medically fragile patient.
 
Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center also has extensive outpatient services from Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Psychiatric Medication Management, Therapy Services, as well as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) treatments.
 
TMS is a treatment used for the individual who has not had success with medications to treat their illness, specifically depression. TMS is offered as an outpatient service in the clinic. ECT is a treatment option for both inpatients and outpatients. ECT is a highly effective treatment for individuals that suffer from depression, catatonia or psychosis.
 
Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that help is always available. Individuals can self-request evaluation for inpatient help or contact the outpatient clinic for an appointment with either a Psychiatrist or Therapist.
