Dedicating his life to service, Andrew J. Shapiro, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified General Surgeon at Advanced Surgical Physicians, U.S. Army veteran, and proud philanthropic partner for many causes in Palm Beach County including his time volunteering to raise and train canine companions at New Horizons Service Dogs. Dr. Shapiro has also served on numerous committees at Wellington Regional Medical Center including the Medical Executive Committee and the Peer Review Committee. Dr. Shapiro is also passionate about medical education and has worked with both general surgery residents and medical students, serving as the Surgery Clerkship Coordinator for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine regional campus in Palm Beach County.
This past August, Dr. Shapiro completed his 1000th robotic surgical procedure with the cutting-edge da Vinci® robot. Dr. Shapiro’s mastery of this technology cements his status as a leader in the field of minimally invasive surgery and he plans to continue striving towards greater heights for medical advancement and patient care.
