November 7, 2022  Akshay Goyal, M.D., joins Baptist Health’s Miami Neuroscience Institute as a pain management physician. Dr. Goyal specializes in pain management and anesthesia, with extensive experience in neuromodulation techniques to treat various pain syndromes.

He is passionate about developing relationships with his patients to help improve their quality of life through pain management and relief.”

Dr. Goyal joins Miami Neuroscience Institute after serving as an assistant professor in anesthesiology and pain management at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

He is a chapter author for OK to Proceed, a textbook that focuses on patient safety in the perioperative setting. An active collaborator with peers on research presentations, he is a member of the Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, North American Neuromodulation Society and American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Goyal received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Sports Medicine. Dr. Goyal earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Boston Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident in 2018-2019. Dr. Goyal then completed his pain fellowship at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

He will see patients at 6200 Sunset Dr., Suite 120, in Miami and 8950 N. Kendall Dr., Suite 410W in Miami.
