August 16 2021 – Over the last few months, we have continued to witness evidence of the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. Through published scientific studies and through what we are witnessing in our own hospitals, we know that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and extremely effective in preventing serious illness and death from COVID-19. While breakthrough infections in those who are vaccinated happen, it is clear that vaccinated people have significantly better outcomes when infected with COVID-19.

We recognize that in order to beat this virus together and fully protect our patients, employees, medical staff and community, we all need to be vaccinated for COVID-19. That is why we are requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all of our employees, medical staff and volunteers by October 31.

The last year and a half has challenged us all, and our community, in ways that we could have never imagined before. Our frontline caregivers continue to feel the strain of COVID-19 surges and continue to selflessly dedicate themselves to caring for our community, and we are grateful. We owe it to everyone who is on the front lines to do all we can to fight, and stop, this virus- and we know vaccination is the best way to do that.
