Primary care physician John Woltz, D.O., has joined Baptist Health to provide general, preventive and occupational medicine services to his patients in the Florida Keys. He is affiliated with Mariners Hospital and Fishermen’s Community Hospital and will see patients at Baptist Health Primary Care in Marathon, FL.
He has treated patients in a diverse range of settings, including rural clinics, hospitals and major urban healthcare facilities. Dr. Woltz has extensive experience working with military and civilian populations. He retired from the United States Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after a 28-year career.
Dr. Woltz joins Baptist Health from Hocking Valley Medical Group in Ohio, where he served as medical director of a 13-provider, 36-person staff in rural Appalachia. He also was the chief of aerospace medicine and the public health emergency officer at Wright-Patterson Medical Center on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Dr. Woltz earned his medical degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in occupational medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He is board-certified in occupational medicine. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Woltz holds a Master of Science in public health from the University of Cincinnati.
