“As it has for decades, Baptist Health Doctors Hospital continues to deliver some of the best cardiac care in South Florida, and by expanding our reach, we will now be able to provide another location for our patients to get the most appropriate treatment they need,” said Javier Hernández-Lichtl, CEO of Baptist Health Doctors Hospital. “Our goal is to give the South Florida community more options when it comes to our cardiovascular services. This expansion will be able to deliver on that now even closer to home.”

In line with the Institute’s commitment to providing the community with expert heart care, the expanded Miami Cardiac & Vascular Cardiology office at Baptist Health Doctors Hospital will be headed by four cardiovascular physicians affiliated with the institute.

“Each of our cardiologists offers a different specialty and perspective when it comes to providing patients the exceptional care they need to lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Jonathan Fialkow, M.D., chief population health officer for Baptist Health, chief of cardiology, and deputy medical director of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.   “Having some of the top cardiologists in South Florida at Doctors Hospital,  allows our cardiac patients enhanced access to the highest quality of care in the city of Coral Gables.”

Percy Aitken, M.D., medical director of cardiology services at Doctors Hospital, leads the hospital’s existing cardiac care. Dr. Aitken will be joined at the new facility by Eli Friedman, M.D., medical director of sports cardiology, who is leading programs to help diagnose or treat cardiovascular conditions in athletes across South Florida, and help train athletes and their coaches in proper CPR techniques. Tarak Rambhatla, M.D., the director of inpatient cardiac services, and Adedapo Iluyomade, M.D., preventive cardiologist, will also be joining the team at the new facility.
