Barron Channer has been named to the South Miami Hospital Board of Directors. Channer is a senior associate with The Peebles Corporation specializing in real estate acquisitions and development.
A graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a master of business administration degree, Channer is responsible for sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities in the Eastern United States and the Caribbean. During his tenure with Peebles he facilitated and participated in negotiations for the record-setting $127.5 million disposition of a Miami Beach resort hotel.
A 20-year resident of South Florida, Mr. Channer is actively involved in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Diaspora Vibe Gallery. He is a founder and the 2006 chairman of the American Friends of Jamaica South Florida Gala. In addition, he is president of Jamaica Impact, a nonprofit organization of progressive Jamaican professionals.
