Palm Beach County’s longest-serving hospital CEO Robert B. Hill has announced his retirement after 40 years of service to Bethesda Healthcare System, with the last 27 years at the helm as Bethesda’s President and Chief Executive Officer.Over the course of his 40-years of dedicated leadership, Robert B. Hill has been a visionary who doubled the size of Bethesda Memorial Hospital to 401-beds by taking a community hospital and transforming it to become the most comprehensive medical facility in Palm Beach County. Under his leadership, Bethesda opened the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Cornell Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine, the Bethesda Heart Hospital, and finally, the development of Bethesda West Hospital, Palm Beach County’s newest hospital in 23 years. He was a founding member of 
the Voluntary Hospitals of America, as well as a long serving Board member of the Florida Hospital Association and member of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County. Robert has been very active in the community. He served as the chair of the Boynton Beach Visioning 20/20 Task Force. Hill officially retires from his post February 17, 2012.

Kirk will be the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Bethesda Memorial Hospital and Bethesda Healthcare System, Inc., effective February 18, 2012. Kirk brings outstanding leadership to his new position, after serving as Bethesda’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the last 24 years.
