August 1, 2022 – The Cleveland Clinic Weston welcomes board-certified cardiologists, Jerry D. Estep, MD, FACC, FASE, and Kushal Handa, MD.

“We are very pleased Drs. Estep and Handa have joined our team of expert specialists at the Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute,” said Rodolfo J. Blandon, MD, MBA, President of Cleveland Clinic Weston. “Their knowledge and proficiency will help support the Institute’s mission to provide the highest level of cardiovascular patient care and exceptional outcomes for each patient.”

Jerry D. Estep, MD

Jerry D. Estep, MD, FACC, FASE, earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, and completed the internal medicine residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Estep went on to complete the Cardiology and Heart Transplant Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and the physician leadership course at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, Dr. Estep was Section Head, Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation, at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles related to heart failure and heart transplantation and holds professional memberships in the American College of Cardiology, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Society of Echocardiography.

 

 

Kushal Handa, MD

Upon earning his medical degree at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College London, in the United Kingdom, Kushal Handa, MD, completed the internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, Dr. Handa was Regional Director of the Southeast Region, Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute in North Carolina. He holds professional memberships in the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American College of Physicians.
