Boca Raton Community Hospital announced the election of Terry B. Cohen, M.D., as the new chief of the department of emergency medicine and Aryeh Pessah, M.D., as the new vice chief of the department of emergency medicine.
Dr. Cohen joined the hospital staff in 1981 and serves as chief of the Credentialing Committee. In addition to his new duties as chief of the department of emergency medicine, Dr. Cohen also serves as medical director for Boca Raton Fire-Rescue Services.
Dr. Pessah joined the hospital staff in 1998 and currently serves on the Clinical Effectiveness Committee at Boca Raton Community Hospital. Dr. Pessah is board certified in emergency medicine and attended medical school at Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. He completed his internship and residency program at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as chief resident of emergency medicine.
