Broward Health’s Corporate Resource & Materials Management Department received the 2010 Supply Chain Management Department of the Year award from Healthcare Purchasing News (HPN).
HPN felt that Broward Health’s example of collaborative practices, sustainable metrics, task simplification, team work, and cost savings resonate more with the majority of healthcare organizations in operation, especially in a tight economy. According to HPN, this year represented one of the toughest to date in the final decision that involved two inventive organizations – one a public health system (Broward Health) dedicated to fundamental process improvement for high-quality patient care and another a university organization driven to process improvement by creative uses of technology.
