Broward Health and the Florida Society of Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety recently hosted a dynamic day-long symposium at Broward Health Medical Center where 40 risk management professionals learned about a variety of topics related to risk management and quality improvement.
Highlights from the symposium included presentations on the legal and ethical considerations related to disclosure and apology, an update on case law, a 2016 Florida legislative update, as well as a risk management and quality update from the Agency for Healthcare Administration. The symposium also included an interactive presentation on both root cause analysis and disclosure.
