Broward Health North’s Clinical Lab and Blood Gas Lab had an outstanding College of American Pathology (CAP) survey. A Team of 8 CAP inspectors came from Baptist Healthcare to inspect documentation for quality control standards, process improvement outcomes, procedure manuals and non-waived point of care testing. The surveyors reviewed the areas of Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Histology, General Lab, Urinalysis and Blood Gas Laboratory. Over 2500 CAP standards were reviewed.
The inspectors praised BHN for an outstanding job with detailed documentation and organizational excellence while fulfilling several new CAP standards. They were very impressed with our accomplishments while maintaining lean staffing. CAP onsite survey is held every 2 years.
