August 9, 2022 – With the new school year around the corner, many parents and children are getting ready by buying supplies and mapping out school routes. For children who are hospitalized, the first day of school may look different.

To raise spirits and help their pediatric patients focus on the positive, the Child Life team at Broward Health Medical Center’s Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital welcomed firefighters on Friday, Aug. 5 from the City of Coconut Creek who delivered “Dream Packs” on behalf of the non-profit Dreammakers. “Dream Packs” include coloring books and journals that children can use to creatively explore their dreams for the future.

Child Life proudly supports the emotional well-being of pediatric patients through activities including music, art, dance and movement as well as pet-assisted and humor therapy. To learn more about supporting pediatric patients, contact the Child Life team at 954-468-8068.
