February 17 2021 – Broward Health will host its 3nd Annual Cardiovascular Symposium virtually on February 27, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The conference provides up-to-date information on best cardiac practices and procedures and is sponsored by Broward Health.
“We are excited to host the 3nd Annual Broward Health Virtual Cardiovascular Symposium and bring together leading experts in cardiovascular disease, heart failure and interventional stroke management who are willing to share their knowledge and recent findings to further educate healthcare providers from South Florida and beyond,” said Heather Havericak, chief executive officer, Broward Health Medical Center.
The conference will provide physicians and other healthcare professionals an overview of the latest in cardiovascular treatments and care. National and international cardiac experts from Broward Health, Cleveland Clinic Ohio and Ochsner Clinical School will convene to discuss the latest clinical advances, treatment and research in cardiovascular disease and surgery. Presenters include Carl Lavie, M.D., on “COVID and its Cardiovascular Manifestations,” Yordanka Reyna, M.D., on “Incorporating Mitral Valve Therapeutics into Heart Failure Management,” and Bartolome Burguera, M.D., on “Type 2 Diabetes Management Update: Prioritize Cardiovascular (and Renal) Risk Management.”
The virtual symposium will be of value to primary care practitioners, cardiologists, thoracic and vascular surgeons, residents, medical students, nurses, social workers and allied health probationers. Kenneth Herskowitz, M.D., medical director of cardiovascular surgery at Broward Health Medical Center, and Ahmed Osman, M.D., medical director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab co-chair the event, which is in its third year.
