Although Humana just began to offer home-based meal delivery services to Medicare Advantage HMO and local PPO members residing in Broward County, Broward Meals On Wheels has already delivered more than 10,000 meals to Humana members since the program began there on Jan. 12. This program is available at no cost to Humana Medicare Advantage HMO and local PPO members as the result of an exclusive partnership between Humana (NYSE:HUM) and the Meals On Wheels Association of America Foundation (MOWAA Foundation).
Ten nutritionally-balanced meal packs are delivered by Broward Meals On Wheels to the Humana members home immediately following their hospital stay. Humana members are also eligible to receive follow-up calls to determine if they need additional assistance through senior outreach or community-based services organizations, such as those providing transportation or legal services.
