CAC Florida Medical Centers recently announced that Mayda C. Antun, MD, MBA, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining CAC, Dr. Antun most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Neighborhood Health Partnership. Dr. Antun has served in recent years as Medical Director for Beacon Health Plans, Inc. and at United HealthCare of Florida, Inc. where she served in numerous capacities including Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President, Medical Operations. Dr. Antun received her training in Internal Medicine at Nassau County Medical Center, an affiliate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Antun also completed a one-year fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Stony Brook University Hospital. She received her medical degree summa cum laude from the Instituto Technologico de Santo Domingo and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Miami where she was the 1993 Salutatorian. Dr. Antun has been a guest lecturer at Florida International University and the University of Miami. She is active in the community and has served on the board of directors for multiple non-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing the social and economic wellbeing for residents of underserved communities throughout South Florida.
