The Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine recently celebrated the 15th Alumni Reunion of its School of Podiatric Medicine in Orlando, FL. The celebration took place during the Florida Podiatric Medical Associations (FPMA) Science and Management Symposium.

Nearly 250 faculty, staff, and alums had an opportunity to participate in the festive reception honoring Dr. James Stelnicki of New Port Richey, FL, a past president of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, for his $100,000 donation to Barry podiatric medical students. The donation established the James V. Stelnicki Scholarship for Excellence in Lower Extremity Vascular Medicine at Barry University. The scholarship will award one $10,000 scholarship each year to a senior podiatric medical student who has demonstrated excellence in the field of lower extremity vascular medicine in their third-year clinical rotations.
“This tremendous gift to our podiatric medical scholarship program is most sincerely appreciated by our students and the School of Podiatric Medicine,” said Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the School of Podiatric Medicine Dr. Chet Evans. “The Stelnicki Scholarship will recognize students who have excelled in lower extremity vascular medicine clinical training beginning in fall 2008 and for years to come.”
