Charles L. Vogel, M.D., F.A.C.P., an internationally recognized expert in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer, has joined the Aptium Oncology network as Senior Research Advisory for Breast Cancer and has moved his practice to the Lynn Regional Cancer Center West Campus of Boca Raton Community Hospital.
A highly respected practitioner, researcher and thought leader, Dr. Vogel has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the United States Public Health Service Commendation Medal, as well as the distinction of being one of the “Best Doctors in America,” as voted by his peers. He was also invited by former Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala to participate in a meeting to design a National Action Plan for Breast Cancer.
A seasoned physician with more than 35 years of experience, Dr. Vogel most recently ran a private medical oncology practice specializing in breast cancer, and directed the Cancer Research Network, Inc. in South Florida.
He launched his medical career as a Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA, then became a clinical associate and a senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. Subsequent positions have included Associate Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and Associate Professor and later tenured Professor of Oncology at the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Vogel received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from Yale Medical School.
