City of Fort Lauderdale and Imperial Point Association Honor Retired Imperial Point Medical Center CEO Dottie Mancini

The city of Fort Lauderdale and the Imperial Point (Homeowners’) Association recently honored Dorothy “Dottie” Mancini for her community support while serving as chief executive officer of Imperial Point Medical Center (IPMC). City officials issued a proclamation declaring June 25 “Dottie Mancini Day,” and Imperial Point Park was renamed Dottie Mancini Park. Mancini retired as CEO, a position she had held since 1996, in June.

Mancini began her career as a registered nurse in 1962 and joined Imperial Point Medical Center in 1987, becoming director of nursing the following year. In 2003, she was named Best Hospital CEO by Florida Medical Business and IPMC was named “Best Run Hospital” in the less than 250-bed category. IPMC is a three-time winner of the NBHD President’s Award for Customer Service. In 2004, she was named Business Woman of the Year by the Pompano Beach Chamber and the Pompano Economic Group and received the Health and Wellness Award from the Women’s Circle Council, Fort Lauderdale Chamber.
