Hospital system just 1 of 7 healthcare providers recognized worldwide

March 22, 2023 – Cleveland Clinic has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the 13th time.

The 2023 list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies includes135 organizations representing 19 countries and 46 industries. Cleveland Clinic is one of just seven healthcare providers worldwide on the 2023 list.

“Cleveland Clinic’s culture encourages all caregivers to do what’s right, to speak up when issues arise, to value inclusion and diversity, to treat to patients and fellow caregivers as family and, of course, to provide the best healthcare anywhere,” said Donald A. Sinko, Cleveland Clinic’s Chief Integrity Officer.

In addition, he said, “Cleveland Clinic’s Integrity Office is independent of management and reports directly to the Board of Directors, a structure that is nationally recognized as a best practice and a reason why our compliance program is so highly rated by Ethisphere.”

This is the 17th annual recognition of companies that have demonstrated a commitment to ethical business practices through programs that positively impact employees, communities, and broader stakeholders, and contribute to sustainable and profitable long-term business performance.

Ethisphere’s assessment process includes more than 200 data points on culture; environmental and social practices; ethics and compliance activities; governance; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
