Raul Rosenthal, M.D., Chief of Staff, Director of Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Bariatric and Metabolic Institute, and Chairman of the Department of General Surgery, has been named President of the Executive Council of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
In addition to his role at the ASMBS, Dr. Rosenthal also serves as president of the Fellowship Council, an organization that fosters the development of high quality fellowships in minimally invasive surgery, and as president of the Florida Chapter of the American Council of Surgeons.
Dr. Rosenthal earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and his medical degree from the University of Medicine of Rosario in Argentina. His extensive advanced training included a surgical residency at Provincial Hospital Rosario, and a surgical internship and residency at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University’s Nordwest Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Rosenthal also completed a surgical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, and a surgical residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, as well as a laparoscopic surgery fellowship at UCLA’s Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
